The Providence Bruins defeated the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, 3-2, with one second remaining in overtime on Wednesday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The win improved the Black and Gold's record to 32-26-8-4 (76 points) and moved them into seventh place in the Eastern Conference. Head coach Bill Armstrong's club is now 5-4-8 in overtime this season.

Bruin defenseman Jonathan Girard tallied the winning goal on the rebound of a Martin Wilde shot. Left wing Ivan Huml added his team-leading 25th goal of the year, while defenseman Chris Kelleher tallied his fourth goal. Huml now has 8-6-14 totals in his last 10 games. Center Ben Stafford had an assist, and has 2-9-11 totals in his last nine games, while left wing Sean Haggerty also added an assist, to give him 6-5-11 totals in his last nine games.

Goaltender Andrew Raycroft stopped 29 shots for his 24th win of the season.

The Bruins return to action at home on Friday, March 22nd at 7:05 p.m. to host the Lowell Lock Monsters and Sunday, March 24th at 4:05 p.m. against the Springfield Falcons.
