Foxborough, Mass. - The Confederation of North and Central American and Caribbean Association Football announced today that Gillette Stadium is among the host venues for the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup, which will be played June 6-24.
The CONCACAF Gold Cup is the organization's showpiece event which crowns the regional champion from the qualified men's national teams from North America, South America and the Caribbean. The winner of the event also qualifies for the FIFA Confederation's Cup, South Africa 2009.
Gillette Stadium, home of Major League Soccer's New England Revolution, is one of six facilities selected to host the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The other venues are The Home Depot Center (Carson, Calif.), Giants Stadium (East Rutherford, N.J.), the Orange Bowl (Miami, Fla.), Reliant Stadium (Houston, Texas) and Soldier Field (Chicago, Ill.).
Gillette Stadium will feature one first-round date and one quarterfinal date. Each date will include two matches, played as doubleheaders.
This will mark the third time Gillette Stadium has hosted Gold Cup matches, having also staged games in 2003 and 2005.
The United States is the reigning champion of the CONCACAF Gold Cup after defeating Jamaica in penalty kicks in the 2005 championship, held at Giants Stadium. The 2007 championship will be played at Soldier Field.

"It's a testament to the Kraft Family's dedication to soccer and their commitment to bringing high-level soccer events to the region. We're excited to host such a spectacular event that brings together the best squads from North America, Central America and the Caribbean and displays top-flight soccer for our great fans.
"The Gold Cup matches showcase some of the best soccer talent in the world, right in the backyards of our loyal fans. Having these matches as part of our season-ticket packages is an excellent value for our fans," Tornberg added.
