The Vancouver Giants have returned home from their longest road trip of the season as they prepare for a home-and-home series next weekend against the Tri-City Americans.

Last Tuesday, the Giants posted a 4-2 win over the Prince Albert Raiders. Spencer Machacek had a pair of goals including the winner in the Giants first ever win at the Art Hauser Centre.

On Wednesday, Vancouver dropped a 2-1 loss in a shoot-out to the Saskatoon Blades. 13 shooters were required from each team in the longest shoot-out in WHL history.

Friday night, the Giants suffered their tenth regulation loss of the season, falling 6-1 to the Moose Jaw Warriors. It was the first time the Giants played in Moose Jaw since winning the WHL Championship in 2006.

Saturday, the Giants concluded their trek through the East Division with a 2-1 victory over the Swift Current Broncos. Casey Pierro-Zabotel and Evander Kane each had a goal and an assist while goaltender Tyson Sexsmith recorded his 30th win of the season.

The Giants finished off their six-game trip at 3-2-0-1. Currently sporting an overall record of 32-10-1-5, the Giants start the week in first place in the Western Hockey League.

This week the club will prepare to play back-to-back game against the Tri-City Americans. Friday January 25 at 7:30pm, the first 10,000 fans to the Pacific Coliseum will receive a commemorative Mini Memorial Cup. The two teams will then play each other in Kennewick, Washington Saturday January 26 (7:05pm).
