Kamloops, B.C. - Wednesday night at the Sandman Centre in Kamloops the Vancouver Giants (16-18-2-0) fell 2-1 to the B.C. Division leading Kamloops Blazers (25-11-1-0) by a 2-1 score. Caedan Bankier and Mats Lindgren each scored to stake Kamloops to a 2-0 lead before Fabian Lysell scored with 7:11 to go in the third to pull the Giants within one. Both Dylan Garand and Jesper Vikman made 27 saves for their respective teams - Both of whom finished the night one-for-six on the power play. Mats Lindgren's shorthanded goal early in the second proved to be the ultimate difference in handing the Giants their 18th loss of the season.

1st Period:
KAM - With just 30 seconds left on the third consecutive Blazers power play, the home side finally solved Jesper Vikman. It came off the rush courtesy of new over-age forward Luke Toporowski. Toporowski's 19th goal of the season came off a shot from the right-wing circle and was set up by Logan Stankoven and Matthew Seminoff.

2nd Period:
KAM - 57 seconds into the second period, Mats Lindgren increased the Kamloops lead to 2-0 when he roared out of the penalty box, took a feed from Caedan Bankier, and tucked home his third of the season off a shorthanded breakaway to make it 2-0. Ethan Brandwood earned the second assist.

3rd Period:
VAN - Fabian Lysell moved the Giants back within a goal on a power play at 12:49 of the third period. Lysell's team-leading 13th came off a slick cross-ice feed from Cole Shepard. Then from the right-wing circle, Lysell wired a high shot home past Dylan Garand. Alex Cotton drew the second assist.

- Despite Wednesday's loss the Giants remain two points back of Prince George for sixth in the Western Conference standings while still holding two games in hand.
- The Giants are now 1-6 on the season against Kamloops and are 0-4 against them on the road.
- Since returning to the Giants after the World Juniors, Fabian Lysell 2G, 2A) has recorded four points in a span of two games.
- In his last 10 games (Since Nov. 26th in Tri-City), Fabian Lysell has produced nine goals and nine assists for 18 points.
