Giants Fall in OT 3-2

KELOWNA BC - Jamie Benn scored his 42nd goal of the season in overtime as the Kelowna Rockets came from behind to defeat the Vancouver Giants 3-2 in WHL action Saturday night from the heart of the Okanagan.

Colin Long and Tyler Myers also scored for the Rockets, who at one point trailed 2-0 late in the second period before Long's goal made it 2-1 with just eight seconds left in the middle stanza.

Garry Nunn scored his 25th goal of the season in the first period to make the score 1-0, while JT Barnett scored his FIRST WHL GOAL in the second to give the Giants a two goal lead.

The Giants continue their weekend of games with a game at the Pacific Coliseum versus the Kamloops Blazers on Sunday afternoon. You can catch all the WHITE SPOT GIANTS HOCKEY action on AM 650. Brook Ward and Jay Janower will have the pregame show at 4:30, while Dave Sheldon and Jay will have all the action starting at 5 pm Pacific Daylight Time.
