
Giants Defenseman Brent Regner Signs NHL Contract

Vancouver B.C. - The Vancouver Giants would like to congratulate defenseman Brent Regner on signing an entry level contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets on July 1, 2009. Terms of the contract with the NHL have not been released.
Regner was Columbus's seventh pick, 137th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He scored 15 goals and had 52 assists with a plus/minus rating of +65 in 70 games this past season 2008-09. He ranked second in the WHL in plus/minus rating and was second among league defensemen in scoring. Regner was also a member of the Giants Memorial Cup Championship in 2007.
"He's been a great contributor and it couldn't happen to a better person!" comments Giants GM Scott Bonner. "I'm sure he will have a long, prosperous career!
