Georgia Swarm Set to Face Colorado Mammoth in Home Opener

DULUTH, GA. - The Georgia Swarm begin the 2023-24 season this Saturday, December 9 at 7:30 PM ET as they welcome the Colorado Mammoth to Gas South Arena. These two teams last played in Colorado on February 3, 2023, with the Mammoth narrowly beating the Swarm, 13-10.

In their pursuit of a season-opening win, Georgia brings back offensive powerhouses Lyle Thompson, Andrew Kew, and Brendan Bomberry. This formidable trio, renowned for their scoring prowess, will play pivotal roles in the Swarm's strategic offensive efforts. Adding to their strength, the Swarm's defense, led by Adam Wiedemann and Bryan Cole, provides a resilient backbone to their gameplan.

Brett Dobson, the starting goalie for the Swarm this season, has proven himself as a stalwart presence in the net, showcasing his skills after coming off a Championship Season with the PLL Archers. In their last face-off against Colorado, Dobson made an impressive 37 saves, demonstrating his ability to anchor the Swarm's defense.

In the previous matchup against Colorado, Andrew Kew delivered a standout performance with 8 points and 7 assists. Additionally, the Swarm capitalized on 4 out of 5 power plays, underscoring their efficiency in special teams.

Colorado is coming off a 9-9 season but got hot at the right time, advancing to the NLL Finals to face the Buffalo Bandits in a rematch of the 2022 NLL Finals. The Mammoth pushed the Bandits to a 3rd and final game in the 2023 Finals but lost 13-4 in that final game.

As the Swarm and Mammoth prepare for another clash, fans can anticipate a riveting contest between two powerhouse teams. The December 9 home opener promises intense competition, with the Swarm looking to open up with a home win at Harrah's Cherokee Casino & Resort Field.
