Flint Generals News Release
FLINT, MI - The holiday season is a time for giving, especially to those less fortunate. Tomorrow (Tuesday, Dec. 1st) the Flint Generals are again participating in one of the most well known and successful fund- raisers in the country, the Red Kettle Christmas Campaign which is put on each year by the Salvation Army.
Tomorrow, Generals players will be stationed inside the Genesee Valley Mall outside the entrances for Macy's and Sears from 1pm-5pm.
Beginning in 1891 in San Francisco, the Red Kettle Christmas Campaign enables the Salvation Army to aid more than 6 million people nationwide during the holiday season by providing holiday meals for families, dressing children in warm coats for the winter, as well as helping children who may not otherwise experience the joys of the season celebrate with new clothing and toys. The funds raised help more than 37 million people year round in poverty who turn to the Salvation Army for various social service needs.
