Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release
MUSKEGON, MI.--- Having recently completed a magnificent month of November with a scant single setback in a dozen dates at 12(9-1-2), earning 20 of a possible 24-points, the first place Muskegon Lumberjacks continue to achieve acclaim for their extraordinary initial two months of the 2009-10 IHL season.
On this date, the International Hockey League, in collaboration with the Lumberjacks, has announced that veteran star right wing ROBIN BOUCHARD has been named the MEIJER / IHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK for the week of November 23rd through November 29th.
The 36-year-old 16-year perennial All-Star enjoyed yet another majestic week of goal cannoneering and overall point produc-ing prowess for his league-leading club. In 3-games in 3-days, the "Gun-Sling King" connected on 4-goals, 1-assist for 5-points with 9-SOG and superb +3 rating. Included in his weekly returns were 2-PPG, 1-FG and 1-GWG, along with 12-PIM.
In the Lumberjacks 3-1 conquest of Fort Wayne the past Friday night, he was heralded as the #2 Star, fashioning a pair of stoked strikes which included the GWG and PPG. After earning an assist and +1 rating Saturday night in his team's 4-2 trembling over upstart Dayton Saturday, the 13-year Muskegon icon hummed howitzers to the tune of 2-more goals, both in the first period, Sunday in an ultimate 4-3 OTSO outcome at Flint against his former Generals team. Again, "Bouch Almighty" was accorded #2 Star honors.
Sharing the IHL's individual scoring leadership with linemate Todd Robinson, the native of Jonquiere, PQ has been on another one of his "Bouchardian" binges with 11-goals, 11-assists, 22-points in the last 11-games. Muskegon's famous and fabled #32 also tops the league in total goals with 15, GWG with 4 and multiple goal games with 5. Moreover, his 5-PPG tie him for the league's top total.
For the season, in 18-games, he has amassed a mammoth 31-points on 15-goals, 16-assists, ranking #3 in the loop in the latter department behind his linemates Robinson (22) and DiPace (20). His superlative +18 rating also lists him IHL third behind DiPace (+24) and Robinson (+19).
"Rockin" Robin continues his quest with zest to become the greatest goal-scoring colossus in minor pro hockey history. With the magic number in attaining the august feat at 683, Bouchard is currently at 642 and counting or 41-goals away from pro hockey immortality. For his total pro career; (642-693-1,335). His numbers exclusive to Muskegon are (515-502-1,017), having earlier this season reached 1,000-points and 500-assists for the Muskegon franchise.
