Victoria Generals News Release
Texarkana, TX -The Victoria Generals swept the Texarkana Twins in a double header on the road tonight. Victoria took the first game with a score of 5-3. The second win came in a more dominant fashion, winning 12-3.
Both pitchers for the Generals threw complete, seven inning games. Left hander, Gabriel Sequeira, took the mound in the first game. Right hander, Cole Wesneski, also had a strong performance in the second. Both pitchers held the Twins to three runs.
The Generals pitchers had a lot of support from their offense in both games. Thomas Jeffries led the offense tonight going 8-10 on the night including a 6-6 second game raising his season batting average from .312 to .361 on the season. The 18 hits in game two was a season high for the Generals.
These two wins have secured a home playoff game for the Generals later in the season. At the moment, the Generals sit in second place, one game behind the Bombers on the season. Head coach Michael Oros and Generals are back in action Tuesday night at Riverside Stadium with FREE TICKET NIGHT presented by VCS Companies. Gates open at 6 pm with Happy Hour on the Compadres Party Deck.
