Texarkana, TX - Due to poor weather conditions, postponing game one of the two game series Sunday, the Texarkana Twins played a double header at George Dobson Field on Monday night.
Game one of the doubleheader started off well for the Twins as Matthew McDonald drove in Gunner Halter on a RBI single, after Halter stole two bases to put himself in position to score. The lead did not last long for the Twins as Victoria scored a run in the top of the second to tie the game at 1. The turning point came in the 4th inning, when Victoria rallied for three runs to take a 4-1 lead, a deficit the Twins would not be able to overcome. Texarkana did score runs in the 4th and 5th innings to cut the lead to one, however a run by Victoria in the top of the 7th would conclude the scoring, leading to a 5-3 final.
Game two also did not go the Twins way. The club fell behind early, allowing three runs in the 2nd inning, to face another steep early deficit. The game then snowballed in the latter innings, as the Twins allowed 5 runs in the 5th and 4 runs in the 6th inning to fall behind 12-0. The Twins would not give up, as they grabbed some momentum towards their next game, scoring three runs in the 6th inning, including a two-run home run from Jojo Craig.
The Twins have the next two days off before hosting the Brazos Valley Bombers for a pair of games Thursday and Friday. Tickets for these games are available online at texarkanatwins.com.
