
Generals open training camp Monday

FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals of the United Hockey League officially open training camp on Monday, October 4, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. at Perani Arena. Head Coach Robbie S. Nichols welcomes over 35 players to camp who are battling to earn a spot on the 2004-2005 roster.
Early training camp schedules will see players divided into two teams with split practices at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday morning with 3:00 p.m. afternoon scrimmages each day. The training camp will be open for the general public.
"Training camp is a quick camp and decisions have to be made early," said Vice President & Head Coach, Robbie S. Nichols. "Players have to come to camp in shape and show us what they are made of. We need our players to have a strong, discipline camp and we expect them to work hard every day. This will be one of the most competitive camps in the history of our franchise."
The Generals will play host to two league exhibition games against Port Huron on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 7:35 p.m. Flint will host the Jr. Generals on Friday, October 8, 2004 at 7:35 p.m. with proceeds to benefit area minor youth hockey programs.
