Flint Generals News Release
FLINT, MI - Offense was a hard commodity to come by for the Flint Generals in the third game of their Best of Seven Turner Cup semi-final series with the Port Huron Icehawks. The Generals hope to change that tomorrow (Wednesday) night in hopes of evening up the series with Port Huron when the two teams face-off at 7 pm at Perani Arena and Event Center.
The two teams combined for just three goals and 69 total shots that Port Huron won 2-1 in overtime. It was the first time in the series that one team didn't score at least four goals. The Generals scored their lone goal late in the third period to force the extra session.
Specialty teams have been outstanding for both teams as just four power play goals and two shorthanded markers have been tallied in the series.
All three games have very entertaining and chippy at times with several altercations after the whistle.
After tomorrow's game the series will shift back to Port Huron for Game five on Friday night at 7:30 pm. If a game six is necessary then it would be played at Perani Arena and Event Center on Saturday at 7:30 pm.
