LAST GAME: Chattanooga, Tenn. - The Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks, took the lead on the Chattanooga Lookouts on the first pitch of Wednesday's game and never gave it back, winning 6-2 at AT&T Field. The Generals (66-47) picked up their sixth straight win to open the month of August, as well as their sixth win in a row over Chattanooga (51-63) since July 5. Full Recap: JacksonGeneralsBaseball.com

TODAY'S PITCHING MATCHUP: Right-hander Matt Peacock won Pitcher of the Week for the first week of July, back when he threw 14.0 innings in starts against Chattanooga and Montgomery while allowing only one run. Peacock has won 5 of his past 6 starts, putting up the 2nd-best ERA among Southern League starters in July (1.41, behind Birmingham's Matt Tomshaw at 1.07) and the lowest opponents' batting average (.143). Brad Markey will throw against the Generals for the first time as a Lookout, following 2 starts against Jackson with the Tennessee Smokies. Markey allowed 2 runs over 9 2/3 innings to the Generals in 2 previous outings this year, including a career-long start of 7 2/3 innings in a suspended game from April 19 that Markey resumed on May 2 (a 5-1 victory for Tennessee).

NEW TWO TO ARIZONA: Two important Arizona Diamondbacks pitchers made their first appearances in Sedona Red this week, including former General Kevin Ginkel making his big league debut. Ginkel recorded strikeouts in each of his two outings, while the newly arrived Zac Gallen threw five shutout innings against the Philadelphia Phillies in his eighth MLB game. Gallen was acquired from the Miami Marlins last week in exchange for former Jackson infielder Jazz Chisholm.

ALL-STAR 2020: On July 29, the Jackson Generals announced that they would play host to the 2020 Southern League All-Star Game at The Ballpark at Jackson, their first All-Star Game since 2011. Manager Blake Lalli was a participant in that 2011 game, which the North Division won 6-3. (CLICK: 2020 SL ASG release)
