TODAY'S GAME: The Generals have won 2 straight and play the finale of the 6-game series in 5 days with Mississippi at Pringles Park tonight.Jackson leads the current series 3-2 and season series 10-5. The Generals are in the midst of a 16 games in 15 days stretch covering 3 cities. Jackson is 3 games back of Chattanooga in the SL North second half standings.

GENERALS RECAP: - The Generals mounted their largest comeback of the season Friday, coming from 4 down to beat the M-Braves at Pringles Park, 7-6 in 13 innings. Rich Poythress (pictured right, Michelle Gachet) delivered a bases loaded single in the 13th inning to score Nate Tenbrink breaking a 6-6 deadlock. Poythress became the first General to record 5 hits in a game this season. He was 5-for-7 with a double, triple and four RBI. Brad Miller was 4-for-7 while Stefen Romero and Denny Almonte had two hits each of the 16 total Jackson knocks. The Braves jumped out to a 6-2 with a pair of 2-run home runs in the 4th and 5th from Evan Gattis and Joey Terdoslavich. Jackson trimmed the deficit to 6-5 in the bottom of the 6th inning. Poythress delivered his first triple of the year, scoring two runs and Almote collected an RBI infield single. Jackson tied the game in the 8th inning on a solo homer to left by Joe Dunigan. The homer was Dunigan's 23rd which ties him for the league lead. Starter Steve Garrison allowed 6 runs (5 earned) on 5 hits in 5.0 innings in a no decision. Garrison struck out 3 and walked just one. Jonathan Arias struck out 3 in 2.1 scoreless innings of relief and Jose Jimenez added 1.2 scoreless innings striking out 2. Logan Bawcom added 2.0 scoreless innings striking out 3 and Jandy Sena (3-2) got the win despite allowing 4 hits. He struck out one.

VIRAL VIDEO: During Wednesday's perfect game pitched by Felix Hernandez in Seattle a video of the Generals reaction during batting practice has gone viral. The video featuring Felix's brother Moises has been aired on MLB.com, MLB Network, ESPN Sports Center and Yahoo Sports today. As of 1:40 this afternoon it had 86,178 views on YouTube.

ROMERO STREAKING: INF Stefen Romero is currently riding a 13-game hitting streak, T-1st longest by a General this season (Poythress 13G). During the streak Romo is batting .392 (20x51) with a double, 2 triples, 4 home runs and 8 RBI. The streak is T-2nd longest current streak in the league. He has hit safely 39 of 46 games with 21 multi-hit games with Jackson since his promotion.

MAURER POWER: RH Brandon Maurer ranks 3rd in the Southern League with a 3.20 ERA. He also leads the Generals in wins (9), strikeouts (117) and innings pitched (137.1). Since June 1 he is 7-1 with a 2.50 ERA (24 ER, 86.1 IP) with 10 qualitiy starts in 14 starts. During this stretch has lowered his season ERA from 4.38 to 3.20.

"KISS IT GOODBYE": Over the course of the last 32 games, the Generals have hit 31 home runs, including 9 multi-homer games. The Generals lead the league with 99 homers this season. Mobile is 2nd in the league with 91 home runs.

ZUNINO PROMOTED TO JACKSON: Monday, the Mariners promoted 2012 #3 overall pick Mike Zunino to Jackson from Short-A Everett. Zunino was batting .373 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI and a .74 on-base percentage in 29 games since signing on July 3rd. Zunino was the 2012 Golden Spikes Award Winner and National Player of the Year in college baseball out of Florida. He was also the Johnny Bench award winner given to the nations top catcher.

BEST IN THE SOUTHERN LEAGUE: The Generals lead the league with 71 wins and also lead the league in ERA (3.25). The Generals position players also lead the league in total bases (1666), slugging percentage (.404) and home runs (98).

RECORD SETTING PACE: The Generals 70 wins is the fastest to that mark since 2005. The Generals are 5 games off the pace off of the 2005 Diamond Jaxx that won 83 games and 6 off the pace of the 1999 Diamond Jaxx that won a record 84 games. Last season the Generals won just 68 games and the most won since becoming at Mariners affiliate in 2006 was 75 that season.

FUNKY COLD MEDINA: RH Yoervis Medina has allowed 3 runs in his last 39.0 innings in relief (0.69 ERA). During this 26 game stretch has limited opponents to a .188 (25x133) average, while walking 16 and striking out 41.

His 167 hits are currently 2nd-most in the Minor Leagues this season, while 100 runs scored rank 4th.
