Generals announce radio partner

September 21, 2006 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Flint Generals News Release

FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals of the United Hockey League today announces that the organization has a radio partner for the 2006-07 season. SuperTalk 1570 AM will broadcast Generals road games and the weekly Coaches Show.

The Generals will play 38 road games during the regular season and most of those games will be broadcast on SuperTalk 1570 AM. Because SuperTalk 1570 AM also carries Michigan State basketball, there will be a few conflicts during the season. When these conflicts arise, the Generals games will not be broadcast as Michigan State basketball will. However, all games, home and road will be broadcast on the B2 network and on the internet.

SuperTalk 1570 AM will also broadcast the weekly Coaches Show. The show will be broadcast live every Thursday from 7:00-8:00pm. Every show will be broadcast from The Firkin and Fox at the corner of Lapeer and Center in Flint. The show will include Generals Head Coach Kevin Kerr and Generals players talking about the season. Fans are encouraged to attend the live weekly show and ask questions.

"We are excited as an organization to have a radio deal for the upcoming season." said General Manager Al Sims. "Our fans will have an opportunity to follow the Generals on most road games on the radio and every game over the internet with B2. We are also very pleased to have The Firkin and Fox as the home of our weekly show."

The Generals will also have Comcast cable back in the Blue Line Club for the upcoming season. Fans in the Blue Line Club will be able to follow other sporting events, including the Detroit Red Wings, from the club during Generals home games.

The Generals open their 2006-07 season against the Port Huron Flags on Friday, October 13, at Perani Arena. Season tickets are on sale now through TicketMaster or by calling the Perani Arena & Event Center at (810) 744-0580. All kids age 12 and under receive free season tickets with the purchase of an adult season ticket package.
