
IceHogs set preseason practice in Beloit

Rockford, Ill.- Rockford IceHogs President and General Manager Ryan Washatka announced on Wednesday that the United Hockey League club has scheduled a public practice in Beloit, Wis. on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. Admission to the practice is $3 for adults, $2 for students (with a student ID) and free for kids five-and-under.
The practice will take place at Edwards Ice Arena in the Telfer Sports and Activities Center, located at 2101 Cranston Road in Beloit. This will be the seventh time in eight seasons in which the IceHogs will hold a preseason practice north of the border. Length of the session is scheduled to last around an hour.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Beloit Youth Hockey Association. The IceHogs practice will include a controlled scrimmage, featuring 4-on-4, power-play and shorthanded situations and some skill events at the end of practice. Following the practice, the players will be available for autographs, the first public event to meet the new IceHogs players.
Bratwursts, pop and beer will also be available at the event, with all proceeds once again going to the BYHA. IceHogs fans can purchase tickets at the door the night of the practice at Edwards Ice Arena. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m.
The IceHogs open training camp on Monday, Oct. 2. The club will then kick off its eighth season of professional hockey in Rockford on Friday, Oct. 13 against the Fort Wayne Komets at 7:30 p.m. at the Rockford MetroCentre.

Also, the IceHogs announced that Studio 6 is holding another audition for the IceHogs Dance Team. The audition is scheduled for this Sunday, Sept. 24 at Studio 6 from 3-6 p.m. Studio 6 is located between Baker's Square and Cherry Bowl by the Cherrvale Mall.
All interested dancers must have prior dance experience and will be required to fill out an application. IceHogs Dance Team members get a chance to perform in front of thousands of IceHogs fans during each home game at the Rockford MetroCentre and help the promotional team at all of the IceHogs 2006-07 home games and at other IceHogs community appearances in the area. Tickets Going On Sale Monday: Individual game tickets go on sale Monday morning. Fans can call (815) 968-5222 beginning at 9 a.m. or can stop down to the Rockford MetroCentre Box Office starting at 10 a.m. to purchase tickets for the upcoming 2006-07 season. Opening Night is Friday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. against the Fort Wayne Komets.
