Generals add goaltender Bill Zaniboni

FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals proud members of the IHL and Double A Affiliate of the Defending Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings announced today the addition of goaltender Bill Zaniboni to their roster.

Zaniboni, a native of Plymouth, MA, was claimed off waivers from the Muskegon Lumberjacks who expect to have their goaltender Clayton Pool returning to the team. In five games, Zaniboni posted a 1-1-1-0 record with a 4.80 Goals Against Average and a save percentage of .875.

Zaniboni spent time last year with the Wichita Thunder and the Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League. In 18 games with the Thunder, he posted a 6-9-1-0 mark and a 3.44 Goals Against Average. In Arizona, the 6-1, 210 pound goaltender had a record of 9-6-2-0 and a 3.69 goals against average.

Bill Zaniboni played collegiate hockey for three seasons at Northern Michigan University where he posted a total of 32 wins for the club.

To make room on the roster, the Generals released goaltenders Jordan Alford and Matt Spezza. The Generals also announced today that Mike Alexiou has been moved to the 45 day Injured Reserve and that Nick Bet is now on the 60 day IR.

The Flint Generals host the Kalamazoo Wings tomorrow (Thursday) night at 7 pm at Perani Arena and Event Center. It's faith night and churches are invited to bring out their groups to the game.
