Generals acquire Koverko

Oshawa, Ontario - June 16th, 2006 (Generals Hockey Inc.) - The Oshawa Generals announced today that they have acquired 19-year-old left-shot defenceman, Trevor Koverko from the Owen Sound Attack along with Owen Sound's first round selection, the 24th pick overall in the 2006 C.H.L. Import Draft in exchange for Oshawa's first round selection, the 6th pick overall in the 2006 C.H.L. Import Draft.

Koverko, a 6'3", 217lber. is a native of Toronto, Ontario. Trevor was a seventh round choice in the 2003 Priority Selection by Owen Sound. In 38 regular season games with the Attack last season, Trevor recorded 3 assists and 49 penalty minutes. He also played in 11 playoff games. Trevor was also selected in the 5th round by the New York Rangers in the 2005 N.H.L. draft.

"I am very pleased to have acquired Trevor," said Brad Selwood, General Manager of the Oshawa Generals. "He is a solid stay-at-home defenceman who will bring a lot of stability to our blueline."
