Bremerton, WA - The Gems won their fourth straight game as Ian Buckles (George Fox University) pitched a complete game, allowing only four hits and one run in the 5-1 victory on Sunday afternoon at Kitsap Fairgrounds Park in Bremerton, WA. Two RBI singles by Chet Thompson (University of Portland) and an RBI double by Cole Trezek (Loyola Marymount) led the Gems offense as they won their second straight over Kitsap, who falls to 15-28 on the year.
With the win The Gems move to 21-20 on the year and remain in third place in the South Division, only 3 ½ games out of a playoff spot in the South Division. Buckles improved to 3-2 on the year with the win for the Gems, and Kitsap's starter Ryan Taylor (Olympic College) fell to 1-5 with the loss.
