Dayton, OH â The Dayton Dragons pitching rotation will see a familiar face join the club as Don Gemmell with make his third trip to Fifth Third Field. Gemmell was a Dragon in 2002, 2003, and now in 2004. The right hander will replace Trey Rice, who has been placed on the disabled list with a groin strain. Rice does not have a win or a loss but is tied for the team lead in appearances with three, and has thrown 5.1 innings allowing three hits with eight strikeouts with no walks all while not allowing a single run Gemmell, who began the 2004 season in extended spring training pitched the entire 2003 season in Dayton. The RHP posted a 1-2 mark with a 5.24 ERA in twenty two appearances with the Dragons last season.
