PENSACOLA, Fla., - The Cincinnati Reds have announced the following roster change for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos prior to today's game against the Mississippi Braves.
- Jeff Gelalich, OF, promoted from Daytona
Gelalich, 25, was selected in the supplemental first round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft (57th pick overall as compensation for the loss of Type B free agent Francisco Cordero). Gelalich is starting today's game in right field as he makes his Double-A debit. Gelalich is batting .235 this season with four RBIs and seven runs.
With today's transaction, Gelalich joins Alex Blandino (2014), Phillip Ervin (2013), Eric Jagielo (2013), Kyle Parker (2010) and Nick Travieso (2012) as first round draft picks on the Pensacola roster.
The Pensacola Blue Wahoos have 25 active players on the roster.
