Gawdin, McNiven, and Guhle Added to BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that three players have been added to rosters for the BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game hosted by the OHL's Niagara IceDogs on Thursday January 22, 2015, including Glenn Gawdin of the Swift Current Broncos, Michael McNiven of the Owen Sound Attack, and Brendan Guhle of the Prince Albert Raiders.

Gawdin, a 17-year-old forward from Richmond, BC, will compete with Team Orr as a replacement for Pavel Zacha of the Sarnia Sting. Gawdin is currently in his second full season with the Broncos and has 36 points in 46 games so far this season. He becomes the second member of the Broncos to compete in this game joining fellow forward Jake DeBrusk who is a member of Team Cherry.

McNiven, a 17-year-old goaltender from Georgetown, ON, will compete with Team Cherry as a replacement for Callum Booth of the Quebec Remparts. McNiven is playing in his rookie season with the Attack and carries a 10-3-0-0 record with two shutout victories along with a goals-against-average of 1.75 and save percentage of .944.

Guhle, a 17-year-old defenceman from Sherwood Park, AB, will compete for Team Cherry as a replacement for Mitchell Vande Sompel of the Oshawa Generals. Guhle is playing in his second season with the Raiders and has 15 points in 45 games played so far this season.

The BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game features 40 of the CHL's top draft eligible players for the 2015 NHL Draft. This annual showcase features the next wave of NHL talent from the Ontario Hockey League, Western Hockey League, and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
