
Garrett Burnett agrees to terms with Trashers

DANBURY, CTâThe Danbury Trashers, proud members of the United Hockey League have agreed to terms with forward Garrett Burnett, it was announced today by Team President A.J. Galante.
"We are very excited to have a player of Garrett Burnett's experience and talent as part of the organization," said Galante. "His presence can only be considered a positive influence on the team's quest to succeed during our first season in the league."
Burnett, 29, skated in 39 games in the National Hockey League last season and scored one goal and added two assists for three points. He also recorded 184 penalty minutes in what was his rookie season in the NHL.
The 6'3'' 235 lb Vancouver, British Columbia native is entering his 10th professional season and has experience in the NHL, AHL, UHL, IHL, ECHL, CHL and CoHL. In 423 professional games, Burnett has scored 23 goals and 26 assists for 49 points and 2,720 penalty minutes.
Burnett recorded a career-high 506 penalty minutes while skating for the AHL's Kentucky Thoroughblades during the 1999-2000 season and was part of the Calder Cup winning Philadelphia Phantoms during the 1997-1998 campaign.
When not on the ice, Burnett spends a portion of his free time working in the community supporting various charitable causes.
The Trashers will begin their inaugural season at the Danbury Ice Arena on Friday, October 15th against Adirondack starting at 7:30pm.
