Three Keys To The Game Presented By Nebraska Department Of Transportation
Key 1: Keep the Momentum from The Last Series
-The Sioux City Musketeers are faced with a red-hot Lincoln Stars team to begin the Western Conference Semifinals. Lincoln opened the Clark Cup Playoffs by sweeping the number three seed, the Waterloo Blackhawks. Game two saw the Stars tallying six goals in the series clincher. In the regular season, Lincoln scored at least five goals 13 times and won all those games in those instances.
Key 2: Stand Strong With Shostak
- Lincoln has started this playoff run with a very impressive special teams performance. The Stars were able to stop all five power play attempts that they were faced with in the first round. Including three penalty kills in their last outing. They sit at the top of the USHL in penalty kills and have been the second least penalized team to start these playoffs.
Key 3: Get Pechar To 20 Goal
-Yan Shostak's start to this year's playoffs has been spectacular. The Stars' goaltender faced 80 shots in total from Waterloo and stopping 79 shots including a 40 save shutout in game one. He currently has a 0.50 goals-against average and a .988 save percentage and sits at the top among goaltenders in both those categories.
