Saginaw, Mich. - The Saginaw Spirit will face the London Knights at the Dow Event Center for Game 6 of the Western Conference Final on Sunday afternoon. Saginaw trails London 3-2 after the Spirit defeated the Knights on Friday night.

Hunter Haight was the sole goal scorer in the first period of Game 5 to give Saginaw a 1-0 lead. The second period was full of goals. Josh Bloom opened it up scoring just two minutes in but London soon responded with a goal coming from Oliver Bonk. Hunter Haight then scored his second goal of the night but was soon followed by Easton Cowan scoring a goal only seconds later. Hunter Haight scored his third goal of the night for the hat trick to defeat the Knights 4-2 and keep the series going. Michael Simpson started in net for London saving 31 of 35 shots. At the other end, Nolan Lalonde stopped 26 of 28 shots on goal to give Saginaw their first win on the road against London.
The Game 5 loss was London's first at Budweiser Gardens since February 28th against the Oshawa Generals. Saginaw hadn't won in London (regular season or playoffs) since March 9th, 2019.
Players to Watch:
Anaheim prospect Rodwin Dionicio leads the Spirit squad in points (17) and assists (12). Dionicio also leads all OHL defencemen in points, assists, and is tied for first in goals with five. He has nine points in the series so far, and assisted on all four Spirit goals in Game 5. Owen Beck follows behind Dionicio in points with 14, collecting four goals and ten assists. Beck is tied for second most power play goals in the OHL with three alongside Hunter Haight. After Friday's hat trick, Haight now has a team-leading nine goals, tied for third in the OHL.
Red Tilson Trophy winner Easton Cowan leads the Knights in points this postseason with 16. Cowan has amassed five goals and eleven assists so far this postseason including three goals and five assists in this series against the Spirit. Kasper Halttunen leads the team in goals (9) while Max McCue leads the team in assists (14) placing him fourth in the OHL. Michael Simpson holds a 2.64 GAA (fourth in the OHL), .908 SV%, 11 wins (tied for first in the OHL), and two shutouts (tied for first in the OHL).
