Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release

The Sioux Falls Skyforce closes out a four-game homestand today, as they host the College Park Skyhawks and former HEAT center Chris Silva for the first time in franchise history.

The Force looks to go 2-2 during the stretch after splitting a two-game series with the Mexico City Capitanes. They lost the finale 119-107 after leading by as many as 10 points in the first half.

Theo Maledon led off the bench in his second game with the team, as he netted 24 points (18 in the fourth quarter) and three assists. HEAT two-way player Jamal Cain had 16 points and 10 rebounds, which was his seventh double-double in nine regular season appearances. Fellow two-way player Alondes Williams contributed 17 points, two rebounds and five assists to round out top performers.

The Skyhawks come into the game on a five-game losing streak, yet just two games out of the final Eastern Conference playoff spot. College Park was defeated 98-94 in its most previous game, on Friday, against Windy City. Jordan Bowen led the way with 29 points, while Silva added 18 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.

Silva, who spent parts of two seasons with the HEAT, is averaging 17.1 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per 27.1 minutes a game. The team is 6-3 when he has 10+ rebounds and 8-4 when he has 20+ points, as well.

The Skyforce looks to capitalize on the Skyhawks' road scoring, as their 107.3 points per game on the road ranks 26th in the league. They also struggle rebounding on the road, pulling together 40.6 rebounds per game, which ranks 30th in the league.

Sioux Falls embarks on its final road trip of the season on Tuesday, as they face the Memphis Hustle (12-16) at 7:00 PM CST.
