ATLANTIC DIVISION STANDINGS

LAST TIME OUT:

The Hershey Bears will look to bounce back after seeing their historic, 17-game point streak and 11-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday night in a 5-1 loss to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Bridgeport scored twice in the first and second period, and once in the third to take a commanding 5-0 lead. Juuso Ikonen scored the only Bears goal in the final minute of regulation on the power play. Hartford is fresh off a commanding 4-1 victory on Sunday over the Providence Bruins. Chambersburg native Steven Fogarty completed the hat-trick with a shorthanded goal at 13:57 of the third period to give the Pack a 4-1 advantage. Tim Gettinger also scored for Hartford at 16:29 of the first frame.

SEASON-SERIES VERSUS HARTFORD

The Bears have won both their previous meetings against Hartford this season. The season-series kicked off on Nov. 4 in a thrilling 2-1 shootout win for the Chocolate and White at Giant Center. Vitek Vanecek did not dress due to an upper-body injury, and Parker Milner stole the show for the Bears after stopping 7-for-7 shootout attempts in goal, and 32 of 33 shots in the win. Over a month later in Hershey, the Bears won by a commanding 6-3 margin over the Wolf Pack on Dec. 8. Liam O'Brien scored twice, Maximilian Kammerer and Garrett Pilon scored their first professional goals, and Colby Williams set a career-high with a three assist and three point night. Tonight is the first of three meetings at XL Center this season. Hershey was 3-0-0-0 last year in Hartford.

MEGNA'S REUNION TOUR:

Hershey's next two opponents both feature former teams of Jayson Megna. Tonight marks the first half of Megna's reunion against Hartford, before traveling to Utica to take on the Comets on Friday. Megna contributed one goal and one assist in the 2015-16 season-series for the Pack against the Bears, and was the team's second-best point producer (44) in 68 games. In two games this season against Hartford, Megna has contributed two assists for Hershey.

WELCOME DSP:

The Bears gained a key forward with winger Devante Smith-Pelly's re-assignment to Hershey. Smith-Pelly has eight points (four goals, four assists) in 54 contests with the Capitals this season, and played a key part in Washington's 2018 run to their first Stanley Cup in franchise history, scoring seven playoff goals. The 26-year-old forward has joined the Bears and is expected to make his debut this week. He last played in the AHL with Norfolk in 2013-14, leading the Admirals with 27 goals.

RECAPPING THE STREAK:

Hershey's franchise record point streak saw the Bears go 16-0-0-1 from Jan. 12-Feb. 23, as the club went 44 days between regulation losses. Hershey won 10 one-goal games in the streak, and also claimed five shootout victories. Riley Barber and Mike Sgarbossa led the way with 18 points over the impressive stretch. The streak saw Hershey move from last place in the Atlantic Division (32 points through 37 games) to third (65 points in 55 games).
