Game Preview - Wichita Wild Bring Winning Streak to Green Bay

Who: Wichita Wild (8-5) at Green Bay Blizzard (10-3)

Where: Resch Center - Green Bay, WI

Blizzard Update: Green Bay clinched the #2 seed in the United Conference last week with an 89-27 win against Reading. The 89 points is a team record. Seven players scored and three tallied interceptions. Highlights of the game include La'Ron Council's record breaking five touchdown performance and B.J. Hill's kick return for a touchdown. Quarterback Donovan Porterie struggled the previous week in Lehigh Valley, but he got back on track against Reading with touchdown passes to four different receivers. Green Bay had 405 yards of total offense compared to 118 for Reading. The Blizzard defense held Reading to seven points in the second half. Curtis Thomas led the defense with six tackles and an interception.

Wild Update: Wichita has clinched a playoff spot, but is in a battle with Allen (8-5) and Colorado (8-6) for the #2 seed in the Intense Conference. The Wild have won six games in a row and eight of their last nine. Last week, Wichita traveled to New Mexico and topped the Stars 55-42. The Wild trailed 26-20 at the half, but rallied behind running back Tywon Hubbard and quarterback Phil Staback. Hubbard rushed for 85 yards and three second-half touchdowns. Staback was 10 of 14 passing for 144 yards and three touchdowns. Defensive back Rashad Washington had 12 total tackles, one interception and a sack.

Series: Green Bay leads the series 2-0. The Blizzard have faced the Wild one time each year it has been in the IFL. In 2010, Green Bay won at the Resch Center 40-38 on a last second touchdown catch by Scott Burnoski. In 2011, Green Bay traveled to Wichita and won 55-41.

Blizzard running back La'Ron Council is 44 yards short of the IFL all-time single season rushing record (936 yards) set by Darius Fudge of Wichita in 2009. Fudge is now with the Allen Wranglers. Council currently has 892 yards. Wild running back Tywon Hubbard leads the IFL in all-purpose yards with 1,797.

Transactions: Wichita activated linebacker Joe Kassanavoid from short term IR.
