Storm Looks to Finish Regular Season 14-0

The Sioux Falls Storm (13-0) will close out its regular season this weekend on Saturday, June 16 at 7:05 p.m. against the Omaha Beef (6-7) at the Sioux Falls Arena. The Storm defeated the Beef (49-37) in Omaha earlier this season.

Waterbury/Coleman is the proud sponsor of the game. There will be a Storm hat give-away to the first 1,000 fans Saturday night courtesy of Coleman Heating and Air Conditioning and your Sioux Empire Coleman Heating and Air Conditioning Dealers.

The Sioux Falls Storm defeated the Colorado Ice (8-6) 69-26 last week. Korey Williams paced the team with 165 kick return yards, two kick return touchdowns, 18 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.

Quarterback Chris Dixon was 13 of 20 for 170 yards and four touchdowns to help push the Storm's win streak to 16. Three of Dixon's touchdowns were thrown to Clinton Solomon, who also led the team with 72 receiving yards. James Terry had four catches and one touchdown in the game. On the ground, Dixon netted 43 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively, Xavier Jordan had 10 tackles (nine solo) and one tackle-for-loss. Rachman Crable, Saturday's Player of the Game, had five tackles (four solo), 2.5 tackles-for-loss, one fumble recovery and one pass breakup.

The Beef lost 50-34 to the Nebraska Danger (5-8) last weekend as James McNear was 14 of 31 for 127 yards, 2 interceptions and one touchdown. On the ground, McNear and Tory Harrison combined for 47 yards. McNears one touchdown was thrown to Allen Burrell, who had 44 yards on four receptions. Wide Receiver Leroy Banks also returned five kicks for 120 yards and one touchdown.

Defensively, Peter Buck had eight tackles (four solo), a sack and two tackles for loss.

The Storm is back at the Storm Shelter next Saturday, June 23, at 7:05pm for the first round of the 2012 Playoff Season.
