Thanks to the Augusta RiverHawks' come from behind 4-1 win over the Fayetteville FireAntz last night, the Ice Flyers have clinched a spot in the 2012 President's Cup playoffs. The Mississippi RiverKings are coming off a 4-3 shootout win on Tuesday against the Huntsville Havoc. This is only the 4th meeting between the two teams with the Ice Flyers holding a 2-1 edge in the series coming into tonight. Last Saturday's game between the Kings and Flyers ended 4-1 in favor of the Flyers with goals by Ryan Hohl, Chris Wilson, and two tallies from Dan Buccella.

The Ice Flyers are 4th in the SPHL with a record of 24-18-4 for 52 points. The RiverKings are 8th at 19-22-3 and 41 points. The Ice Flyers are 11-10-3 on the road and Mississippi is 13-10-1 at home.

Team Scope:

PENSACOLA - Only half the battle is won for the IceFlyers. They've clinched a playoff spot but they need to keep working hard to make sure they stay in the top 4 to earn home ice advantage in the first round. Corey Milan's overall record stands at 10-11-4 with a 3.27 goals against average and a .880 save percentage; his record with the Ice Flyers stands at 6-5-2, a 2.66 GAA, and a 0.902 SV%. Jesse Kallechy got his first Ice Flyers start and win against the RiverKings last week and his overall numbers stand at 7-8-2, a 3.41 GAA, and a 0.899 SV%. Chris Wilson leads the team in points with 48 and goals with 27. Jordan Chong still leads the team in assists with 28.

The Ice Flyers' power play is 3rd in the SPHL with a success rate of 19.09% with 42 power play goals on the year and only giving up 3 shorthanded goals. The penalty kill sits 5th in the SPHL at 82.58%. The Ice Flyers have given up 31 power play goals. The Flyers have been able to score 7 shorthanded goals, which is tied for second most in the league.

The Ice Flyers' next game is tomorrow night when they face off against the Havoc.

MISSISSIPPI - The RiverKings hold only a 6point lead over the Fayetteville FireAntz and the Kings are looking for every point they can get to avoid falling to 9th. In net the RiverKings have Scott Darling and former Flyer Jeff Rose. Darling is 11-15-1 with a 2.95 GAA and a 0.904 SV%. Rose has yet play for the RiverKings and his combined record stands at 4-7-1 with a 4.20 GAA and a 0.857 SV. Mississippi's leading scorer is Darrell Stoddard with 38 points. Stoddard is also the team leader in assists with 26 while Ken Selby is the team's leader in goals with 19.

Mississippi's power play is last in the SPHL at a measly 12.50% scoring only 25 power play goals and allowing 4 shorthanded goals. Their penalty kill, however, is 3rd in the league at 84.58% with only 31 power play goals against. They've also managed 3 shorthanded goals.

After tonight's game the RiverKings will host the Mississippi Surge on Saturday.
