New England Revolution News Release
Foxborough, Mass. - After stringing together back-to-back wins for the first time this season with victories over Chivas USA (May 11) and San Jose (May 17), the New England Revolution will aim for its third consecutive triumph when it heads to Columbus to battle the Eastern Conference leading Crew on Saturday, May 24 at Columbus Crew Stadium. The game will be televised nationally on Fox Soccer Channel at 7:30 p.m. ET, with a live half-hour pregame show beginning at 7 p.m. ET. The WEEI Radio Network will also carry the game on a taped-delay at approximately midnight, following Celtics coverage.
New England has struggled in the all-time, regular-season series at Columbus, going 4-12-6 in 22 meetings. From 1996-2001, the Revs went 1-9-0 in road matches at Columbus, including dropping their first five contests at Crew Stadium after the facility opened in 1999. However, the Revolution has turned it around in recent years, going 3-2-6 at Columbus since the start of the 2002 season.
The Revs enter the weekend with the second-best road record in MLS (3-1-1, .700 winning percentage), trailing only Chicago (3-0-1, .875) in road success, while the club currently carries a four-game road-unbeaten streak - the longest such streak in the league this season. Meanwhile, the Crew is a perfect 4-0-0 at home.
