Game Not Over! Suspended after 18 innings in 6-6 Tie

SOUTH BEND, IN (May 5, 2017) - One day was not enough for the Clinton LumberKings who fought the South Bend Cubs to a 6-6 tie through 18 innings on Friday night at Four Winds Field. The game is still in progress and will be picked up on Saturday night with the first pitch of the 19th inning being thrown at 4:30 PM (Central Standard Time). The regularly scheduled game will be played at 6:05 PM (Central Standard Time) or a half hour after the conclusion of the 19 inning marathon game. The LumberKings tied the game with a four-run rally in the eighth inning that was capped by a Luis Liberato two-run home that tied the game at six and is where the game will be picked up on Saturday night. The LumberKings, the only remaining Charter Member of the Midwest League, are playing their 62nd season in the league and their ninth as an affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. Since the club's inception in 1937, 270 former Clinton players have made it to the Major Leagues.
