The Lowdown

This will be the only time these two teams will hook up this season and it's the first game at the Brandt Centre in two seasons. In their last meeting at the Showare Center in Kent, Washington, the T-Birds ended a 4 game Pats winning streak with a 5-2 win. Garrett Mitchell scored on a 5-on-3 shorthanded goal and Matt Strueby also scored shorthanded for the Pats only goals. It was a game that both Jordan Eberle and Colten Teubert missed because of the Canada/Russia Superseries game.

Bird bits:

This is the 5th game of the Thunderbirds 6 game road trip through the Eastern Division. They have a 2-1-0-1 record thus far with their last game being a 5-2 win over the Prince Albert Raiders on Wednesday night. They also have great special teams with the 2nd best power play unit running at a 27% clip, while their 10th best penalty killing unit runs at an 80% kill rate.
