This is the second time this season that these East Division rivals will face each other. The 1st meeting in Saskatoon saw the Blades score four times in the first period en route to a 7-3 win. Over the next two periods the Pats carried the play but couldn't beat 20 year old goaltender Steven Stanford as he stopped 29 of 31 Pat shots. Marek Viedensky was fantastic for the Blades with a goal and two assists. For the Pats, Mikael Jung scored his first career WHL goal in the loss.

A solid week:

Last week started with a tough 3-2 shootout loss last Wednesday to the Lethbridge Hurricanes, but with a pair of wins this past weekend over the Swift Current Broncos, the Pats took 5 out of a possible 6 points.

"Special"ty teams:

After a slow start to the season, the Pats specialty teams may be finding their stride. The power play has hit the back of the net in 4 straight games scoring 7 times. With their efforts, they have climbed to 17th in the WHL with the man advantage. The penalty killers have stopped 11 of their opponent's last 12 power plays and are now 18th in the WHL.

Shoot to win:

The Pats have outshot their opponents just three times this season, and in all three occasions, the blue and white have picked up wins. While their 7-4 win Sunday night in Swift Current was the first time they won while being outshot.

Next Action:

Next action is Saturday night as the Spokane Chiefs come to town for the first time in two seasons. Its Breast Cancer Awareness Night, and the "blue and white" will be "blue pink and white" with one time only jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game with all the proceeds going towards cancer research and the funds will stay in Saskatchewan.
