Fresh off a game one victory on Friday, the Winterhawks look to take a 2-0 series lead on Saturday.

The playoffs are officially here and it's time to celebrate!
Fans can enjoy free admission to the Toyota Fan Fest at 3:00 P.M. as we celebrate the start of the 2022 WHL Playoffs outside the main entrance of Veterans Memorial Coliseum on the Rose Quarter commons. There will be a number of free activities including lawn games, face painting, live entertainment from 99.5 "The Wolf" and performances by the Rosebuds Dance Team, giveaways, raffles and much more!

Make sure to get there early to welcome the Winterhawks players as they arrive at the arena around 3:15 P.M. for Saturday's matchup! Help us hype up the team ahead of Game 2!
About Last Night
Game one saw the Winterhawks come roaring out of the gates with three goals in 10 minutes before the game settled into more of a back-and-forth rhythm. Aidan Litke, James Stefan and Cross Hanas had the hosts rolling in the first period, and after Prince George got on the board, Gabe Klassen responded late in the second period to keep Portland's momentum rolling. Another Cougars goal early in the third kept things interesting, but Taylor Gauthier gave up no more ground and Jack O'Brien iced the game with an empty-netter for a 1-0 series lead.
It was Gauthier's first playoff start, and it came against his former team of five years. But any butterflies or jitters quickly faded once the puck dropped.
"I think for the first couple of minutes there might have been a bit of added nerves, but once we got that first goal and I got the first shot (against) out of the way, everything kind of settled in and the boys played a great game in front of me tonight," he said.
With one win down, the Hawks look to continue their strong playoff start in game two tonight.
