Taking on the 'Tips
Surprisingly, this is just the first meeting of 2022-23 between two traditional rivals in Portland and Everett. The Hawks got the better of their rivals from suburban Seattle last season, taking a 7-4-1-0 record in 2021-22.
Despite losing three of their top-five leading scorers from last season in Alex Swetlikoff, Niko Huuhtanen and Michal Gut, the Silvertips remain in the thick of the U.S. Division title race. Led by reigning WHL Defenseman of the Year Olen Zellweger and captain Jackson Berezowski, plus high-scoring forwards Austin Roest and Ryan Hofer, Everett sits in third behind Portland and Seattle, with just six points separating tonight's competitors.

Milestone Watch
Tonight's a special one for forward Marcus Nguyen, who is expected to play in his 100th WHL game - all with the Winterhawks! After playing just 16 games during the shortened 2020-21 season, Nguyen posted impressive rookie numbers with 22 goals and 18 assists last season. Building on that success, Nguyen has tallied seven goals and four helpers through 15 games this year for 30 goals, 23 assists and 53 points thus far in his career.
Nguyen's linemate, Jack O'Brien, is also in line to hit a nice benchmark, sitting at 99 career points through 146 career games. O'Brien, 19, is producing at a point-per-game clip this year with four goals and 14 assists in 17 games and could join his winger with a milestone moment this evening.
Congrats to both players!
