Oshawa Generals News Release
Tonight, the Oshawa Generals host the East Division Champions Hamilton Bulldogs for their final meeting of the regular season. With an important two points on the line, the Generals will be looking for some redemption as they search for their first win against their division rival this season.
Beginning tonight, the Generals enter the final week of the regular season with only four games remaining and are in pursuit of home ice advantage for the first round of the playoffs. There are significant implications coming into tonight's game with the Gens win against Steelheads on Friday and the Bulldogs loss to the IceDogs last night. The Gens will be hoping to keep pace with the IceDogs as the two teams are within one point of each other in the race to fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Oshawa will also be looking to finish off the season series with Hamilton on a high note after dropping the first five games in some hard-fought battles. In three of the previous five meetings the Bulldogs outshot the Gens by a margin of 112-62 and in those games, they were outscored 13-4. When outshooting their opponents, the Gennies are 15-7 this season so they will look to be the team to set the tempo early and push the attack. Players that can help with that are Allan McShane, Renars Krastenbergs and Jack Studnicka each of whom have three or more points against the Bulldogs.
Tonight's presenting sponsor is the Real Canadian Superstore! Check out their table on the concourse to play games to win PC point prizing. During intermission fans will see a shopping cart race with the winner going home with 500,000 PC points!
