TIGERS FAST FACTS:
Trevor Cox was suspended Monday afternoon after his hit on Calgary captain Kenton Helgesen from behind. There was only a 2 minute penalty called on the play but after a review was suspended by the league, he has already served 1 game Dryden Hunt netted his 3rd hat trick of the season yesterday and second as a Tiger, Hunt now has 28 goals on the season Nick Schneider has won 6 of his last 8 starts
LAST GAME: The Tigers looked to snap a losing streak heading into Monday afternoon against the Swift Current Broncos on Family Day. The Tigers would dominate once again and took the early lead, something they have not done in the past 5 games. The second period saw an explosion by the Tabbies, 4 goals in the period including a natural hat trick by Dryden Hunt within a 4 minute span. Markus Eisenschmid also score in the frame and after 2 period the Tigers had a commanding 5-0 lead. The Broncos would make things interesting in the second half of the third period. The Tigers would dominate the first half, not allowing a shot on goal until the mid-way point. Swift Current would score 3 goals unanswered to give the crowd something to cheer for, however Cole Sanford added an empty netter to seal the victory, 6-3 for the Tigers.
ALMOST SIMILAR: Heading into their 59th game of the season the Medicine Hat Tigers have eerily similar record just 58 games compared to last season. After 57 games during the 2013-2014 seasons the Tigers sported a 34-20-3-0 record and had similar stretches of losing streaks early on in the season, at one point only winning twice in 7 games. The Tigers know they will have to be good down the stretch to the playoffs and that their record does not mean much in the playoffs.
