GREEN BAY, Wisconsin - Though they amassed nearly thirty shots on the net of Ryan McKay, the Fighting Saints could only muster one goal and fell to the Gamblers 3-1 in Green Bay.

The Fighting Saints compiled numerous quality chances in the first period, with Zemgus Girgensons in particular getting to the net of McKay. McKay held strong, however, and Matt Morris did his part at the other end of the ice too - the game was a scoreless tie after twenty minutes.

Despite a five on three powerplay chance at the end of the second period, the Fighting Saints were unable to get on the scoreboard after forty minutes. Morris remained solid for the Saints, turning away 15 Gambler shots in the first two frames to ensure a scoreless tie heading into the second intermission.

The scoreless game was broken open in the third. Green Bay took the puck ahead on a two on one, and Alex Broadhurst dished a backhand pass to Nolan LaPorte. With Morris out of position, LaPorte scored to give the Gamblers a 1-0 lead. The Saints would respond just a minute and a half later. After getting the feed from John Doherty and Tyler Lundey, TJ Moor slammed home a slap shot from between the circles to tie the game at one.

After a penalty to the Gamblers, Green Bay created a turnover at center ice to spring a breakaway for David Goodwin. Goodwin, who scored the game winning goal a week ago for Green Bay repeated the feat, beating Morris to give the Gamblers a 2-1 lead. Though the Fighting Saints had an opportunity late in the period with a powerplay and Morris pulled in favor of a sixth attacker, Broadhurst fired a shot from his own zone into the empty net to seal the win for Green Bay.

The Fighting Saints will return to the ice next Friday in Dubuque against the Waterloo Black Hawks. It will be Pink the Rink in support of the fight against breast cancer. The Saints will then play ten of their next eleven games on the road.
