
Gamblers Add Defenseman

(Green Bay, WI) - The Green Bay Gamblers have acquired defenseman Owen Murray from the Penticton Vees of the British Columbia Junior Hockey League. The Decker, Manitoba native is expected to be in the Gamblers line-up this weekend when the team travels to Muskegon, Michigan for a pair of games versus the Lumberjacks.
Murray (12/1/02) appeared in 14 games with the Vees, notching a goal and 11 assists. Prior to his time in Penticton, Murray played two seasons (2018-20) in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, with the Portage Terriers. In 85 career games with the Terriers, Murray tallied 13 goals and 54 assists. Murray is committed to UMASS-Amherst.
To make room for Murray the Gamblers dropped veteran defenseman Michael Ferrandino. The Lisle, Illinois native appeared in 52 games with the Gamblers over the last two years, producing a goal and 14 assists.
