Gallup Outlaws News Release
Gallup, NM. The ABA Gallup Talons professional basketball team have announced their preliminary tryout camp to be held June 18-19, 9am-5pm at the Gallup Junior High School. Registration fee will be $100. Head coach Clayton Shields said he is expecting a heavy turnout from players from the southwest but wouldn't be surprised to see a few players show from other parts of the country.
"We're going to play a physically demanding style of basketball," said Shields, "and our tryout camps will reflect that style of play." Team owner Joe Kolb added, "One a preliminary group of players are selected, they will participate in representing the team during summer workshops for youngsters as well as play in exhibition games."
A final cut will be held early in the fall. For more information, contact Tom Hartsock, Sports Information Director at 505 726 8330 or email ghsat@hotmail.com or visit www.abalive.com.
