CARSON, CA (Thursday, July 24, 2003) - The defending MLS Cup Champion Los Angeles Galaxy will host "Korean Heritage Night" at The Home Depot Center on August 9 vs. the Columbus Crew (Kickoff 7:00 pm PT). The Galaxy organization has joined with numerous partners in the Korean Community throughout Southern California to celebrate the anniversary of 100 years of Korean Immigration to the United States as well as the emergence of Korea's national team on the world stage just over a year ago when it hosted the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
"The Galaxy take great pride in having a team that truly represents the ethnic diversity of Southern California," said L.A. Galaxy VP/GM Doug Hamilton. "Our acquisition of World Cup defender Hong Myung Bo this year has enabled us to further that representation and effectively reach out to the Korean Community. We would like to thank all of the numerous community partners for their support and ask them to join with us in celebrating 'Korean Heritage Night' at The Home Depot Center."
