ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades announced Thursday that the team has agreed to terms with forward Gabriel Desjardins for the 2014-15 season.

Desjardins, 21, joins the Everblades after appearing in nine games with the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League last season before having his season cut short due to an injury.

"We had a chance to take a look at Gabriel during Tampa Bay 's developmental camp a couple of seasons ago, and we were impressed with him," said Everblades Head Coach Greg Poss . "He played well with Lake Erie at the start of last season before his injury. He is a hard working two-way forward who has good skill."

Desjardins (pronounced DAY-ghar-DAN) had a productive career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2008-2013 totaling 185 points (85g, 100a) in stints with the Halifax Mooseheads, Quebec Remparts, and the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.

The 6-0, 212-pound winger posted a career best 74 points (32g, 42a) in 66 regular season games, along with 15 points in 14 postseason contests with Rouyn-Noranda during the 2012-13 campaign.

The Montreal native, Desjardins, becomes the sixteenth player to agree to terms with the Everblades for the 2014-15 season. He joins forwards Mitch Wahl, Chris Kushneriuk, Kyle Stroh, Alex Lavoie, Mike Cichy, Mike Silengo, Evan Bloodoff, Jason Wilson, Kevin Lynch, Adam Brace and defensemen Mike Little, Jordan Henry, Tyson Gimblett, Cameron Burt, and Kevin Hart.
