Orlando Rays News Release
Greenville, S.C. â Greenville used a five-run third and held off a late Orlando rally as the Braves downed the Rays 6-3 in the final game of the teams' four-game series.
Greenville pushed across five runs in the third inning off Rays' starter Jose Veras (2-6), including a home run off the bat of Jason Fitzgerald, who homered for the second straight game.
Frank Moore went 3-4 with a double and one run scored, while catcher Danny Massiatte chipped in a 1-3 effort with two RBI for Orlando, who had not lost a series since dropping two of three in a rain-shortened series to the league-leading Carolina Mudcats May 19â22.
The Rays return to Orlando tonight to start a four-game series with the Jacksonville Suns beginning Monday. Monday's game will be a standard 7:05 start, but Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are Camp Days at Cracker Jack Stadium, with special 11:05 a.m. starts to accommodate area summer camps that will be in attendance at the ballpark. Monday's game will feature LHP Jon Switzer (3-6, 4.66) taking the hill for the Rays.
