Fury Get First-Ever Win over Sockers, 4-3

The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, picked up its first-ever win over the San Diego Sockers with a 4-3 victory Saturday night at Valley View Casino Center.
Tino Nunez scored the game-winner with 3:40 remaining, as the Fury evened its record at 2-2 on the season. Juan Topete scored twice and Luan Sales Oliveira also scored for Ontario, which was 0-7 lifetime against the Sockers over the previous two seasons of action.
Goaltender Sanaldo came up big for the Fury on Saturday, making several key stops to keep the Sockers at bay. The veteran recorded 16 saves, as Ontario was outshot 19-12 on the game.
Kraig Chiles scored twice for the Sockers, as they fell to 1-2 on the season.
These same two teams will meet again Saturday for a 1 p.m. game at Citizens Business Bank Arena as part of a special Ontario-San Diego doubleheader at the arena. The American Hockey League Ontario Reign will take on the San Diego Gulls in a game scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Saturday night.
