Amarillo Gorillas News Release

Amarillo, TX 11/11/08 - In a strange twist of fate, Sam Ftorek found himself back on the British airwaves recently.

The one-time player for the Bracknell Bees in the BISL was featured late last week on Sky News, a major television news station in the U.K. A news crew from Sky came to Amarillo following the election last week, hoping to profile a 'red' city in their post-election coverage. After a quick search, they were led to the Amarillo Civic Center, where the Gorillas were preparing for their game against Rapid City.

After interviewing Amarillo native and Gorillas corporate partnership executive Scott Sneed, as well as Gorillas' Owner Randy Sanders, the crew spoke to Ftorek, the team's captain in 2008-09. Sky News talked to the three about the post-election aftermath in Amarillo, and the team's place in the Texas Panhandle's largest city.

Sky News' segment on Amarillo, and a portion of Sam Ftorek's exclusive interview, is viewable for a limited time at http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/video/sky-news-video/Video/200811115145648 .

Enjoy all the benefits of being an Amarillo Gorillas season ticket holder, including pregame meetings with Coach Coolen and one-of-a-kind access to special events! Gorillas season tickets for 2008-09 are available by calling (806) 242-PUCK (7825) or by visiting the Gorillas office at 901 Buchanan in Amarillo.
