
CHL Performance of the Week Winner Announced

The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Rio Grande Valley rookie goaltender Wylie Rogers has been voted as Week Three's CHL Performance of the Week. The first-year professional made 53 saves in a 2-1 Killer Bees victory at Odessa on October 31st. The game was the Jackalopes home opener and the win moved RGV to 4-0 on the season.
Rogers won the weekly poll award after defeating New Mexico's Chris Robertson in the closest Performance of the Week Poll in the award's history. Rogers received 1,344 of the 2,958 votes cast for 45% of the vote. Robertson's hat trick received 1,280 votes for 43%.
The Killer Bees are sitting at 5-1-1 with 11 points (one behind the Southeast Division leading Laredo Bucks). Rogers is 4-1-1 with a 2.55 goals against average (sixth in the CHL) and a .926 save percentage (fifth in the CHL).
The nominees for the CHL Performance of the Week for week four of the season (Nov. 3-9) are as follows:
-Odessa going 3-0 on a 3-games-in-3-nights road trip that saw them capture wins in Laredo, Rio Grande Valley and Texas
-Amarillo's Jason Weitzel netting a hat trick in the Gorillas 6-3 victory over Rapid City on November 7th
-New Mexico's Craig Macdonald scoring the game-tying goal with one second remaining in the Scorpions 6-5 OT victory in Wichita on November 7th
-Tulsa's Jake Riddle scoring a pair of goals in the Oilers 3-1 win versus Amarillo on November 8th
-Colorado's Riley Nelson scoring game winning goal (his 29th as an Eagle) in team's 3-1 win versus Rapid City on November 8th
Fans can vote for the winner through Monday, November 17th with the winner being announced on Tuesday, November 18th.
