
FSL Names Pitcher & Player of the Week

The Florida State League named today the Player and Pitcher of the Week for the period May 26- June 2, 2014.
The Player of the Week was Dunedin Blue Jays Outfielder Marcus Knecht. He played in five (5) games and had 11 hits in 21plate appearances for a .524 batting average. His hits included one (1) triple and three (3) double. He drove in eight (8) runs and scored four (4) times. His OBP was .583 and his slugging average was .762. This is his fifth year of professional baseball and he was born in Toronto, ON.
The Pitcher of the Week was Fort Myers Miracle Right-hander Jose Berrios. He started one (1) game, recorded a win, and had a 0.00 ERA. He pitched a shutout and in seven (7) innings pitched he allowed one (1) hit and struck out 13 batters. Jose is in his third year of professional baseball and resides in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
