JUPITER, FL - Derrick Chung's RBI single in the eighth inning was the difference as the Dunedin Blue Jays came away with a 5-3 win over the Hammerheads on Monday night.

After Jupiter starter Trevor Williams left with the game tied at three following the seventh inning, the Blue Jays struck for the go-ahead run off of Casey McCarthy in the eighth frame.

Marcus Knecht started the rally when he led off the inning with a single to left field. After a fly out, Knecht would advance to second when a high fastball went off the glove of the catcher Josh Adams. Chung would cash him in when he ripped a single up the middle to make it 4-3. It was Chung's third hit of the night.

Dunedin would add an insurance run in the top of the ninth when Christian Lopes hit a leadoff double and later scored when Colby Suggs threw a wild pitch.

Through the first three innings of the ballgame, Williams and Daniel Norris traded zeroes.

In the fourth, K.C. Hobson drew a one-out walk and Chung followed with a single. After a strikeout Emilio Guerrero would pull a single to left to give the Blue Jays a 1-0 advantage.

The Hammerheads would strike back in the bottom of the frame as they scored three times off Norris who had allowed just four earned runs in 53.1 innings to that point in the season.

With runners on first and second and two outs, Adams would slice a double into the right field corner to score a pair and give Jupiter a 2-1 lead. Ryan Goetz would then pull a single past the dive of the first baseman as Adams scored to make it a two run game.

The lead wouldn't last long Dalton Pompey crushed a two-run homer to right in the fifth to tie the game at three.

The score would remain the same until Chung's go-ahead single in the eighth.

Tony Davis would pick up the win after he limited the Hammerheads to one hit in 1.1 innings. Danny Barnes would get the save after he retired the final five batters of the game, four via strikeout.

McCarthy would be handed the loss for Jupiter. Williams picked up a no decision although he had his eighth quality start in 12 outings this season.

Viosergy Rosa had three hits for the Sharks in a losing effort.

Jupiter will play the final game of the eight-game homestand on Tuesday night as the Hammerheads play the series finale with the Blue Jays. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
